- SmartCode 914/916 touchscreen delamination. The capacitive layer separates from the glass after two to three Chicago winters, especially on south-facing doors where freeze-thaw cycles accelerate adhesive failure. The lock still accepts codes, but the screen registers phantom touches or none at all.
